After Obama put up much fanfare and hoopla about his pipe dream of banning COMBAT RIFLES and battle-adequate magazines, he fell WAY short of his intended goals, despite all the help he got from the mainstream globalist media!
It’s a time to celebrate!
But not a time to fall asleep!
Keep pressuring your legislators to adopt similar legislation as Wyoming and Texas!
Wyoming Legislation (The work has already been done for your legislators): http://legisweb.state.wy.us/2013/Introduced/HB0104.pdf
Despite Obama’s raging desire to act as a dictator and illegally ban our birthright by use of executive order, he was obviously advised (correctly) that he’d be opening up a pandora’s box. Both in terms of the legalities and the risk of starting the next revolutionary war. But by the time he got the word, he had already worked the media and the leftists into a frenzy, awaiting some great breakthrough announcement. They wanted to hear their glorious leader’s plans for action! He couldn’t back out. He HAD to walk up to the podium with… NOTHING! A bunch of giberish! We won this battle, but there are many more ahead of us, so don’t let up. This was a major failure for the Obama administration and the rest of the Marxists who want to dismantle America. Congratulations, patriots!
Victory? I don’t know. I have seen people happy about this “common sense” gun control. I know the EO’s don’t say much, but I feel it is kind of like a warm up. Incrementalism. Ease people into the idea, baby steps at a time. You are right- this is not the time to go to sleep. I will rejoice with news of these various states legislation if they ever get passed. All it takes is a non pro gun chairman to prevent these things from ever even being voted on. My home state had that issue with beer laws and CCW laws. I will carry on hope, however!
I still claim victory in the latest battle. I believe with all my heart that Obama fully intended to implement bans on Combat Rifles and battle-adequate magazines, plus many more measures through executive order. I also believe that he was advised strongly by the dems in congress that he faced a humiliating defeat (consitutionally speaking) and would lack the support of the congress, many of whom will be facing re-election campaigns next year. He’s outnumbered. Do you really think that Obama got everyone hyped up over his ‘big announcement’ to declare ‘his plan’ and ‘strong measures?’ No, he was left pleading with congress to do what he wishes he could do, and what he fully intended to do with executive order. Pray for the leaders in our states! They have huge battles ahead of them with the feds.
That’s the way I see it.

I agree with you – but only as far as it goes.
I am sure that we still need to be ever vigilant about our freedoms and our rights.
In some ways I’m waiting for the other shoe to drop. Granted, this all sounded like, “I’m ordering you to do what you’re supposed to be doing” … but I just get the sense that there is something else – something going on behind the scenes.
Like a great magician, distracting the audience with one hand, while is other hand does the dirty work. Or like a boxer that throws a ‘light’ right to draw his opponent into the terrible left hook he has cocked and waiting.
I hope and pray I’m wrong. And I *will* celebrate a bit over the fact that the best he could come up with was an order to do what is pretty much supposed to be happening already, but I will continue to keep my guard up.
I saw it on someones blog that basically he proposed what the NRA did … and while they were lambasted for it, he was praised. Go figure.
