What would YOU do?
Do you have a plan?
Have you practiced your plan?
North American 3-day, Scenario-based disaster/preparedness exercise. A chance for you to practice:
-
Your personal, family, group SHTF plan
-
The AmRRON Communications Plan
-
Grid-down emergency plan
________________________________________________
-
Participate in all or part (one day, two days, three days?). It’s a chance for you to implement YOUR plan.
-
Follow along with the scenario and timeline (To Be Released – stand by).
-
Develop and follow your own, customized scenario as a smaller part of a bigger exercise.
-
Practice your personal, family, or group communications plan
-
Bugging out? Bugging in?
-
If you have a loose network of likeminded families and retreat groups in your local area, feel free to develop some of your own ‘micro-scenarios’ and developments between yourselves, while participating in the bigger scenario at the same time. Just keep it legal, safe and sane!
This is a great opportunity for you to practice your SHTF plan, (coordinated to take place on the same date(s) as thousands of other likeminded patriots, preppers and Redoubters), so you can find out what works (and what doesn’t), and what needs to be improved upon. It’s an opportunity for all of us to identify weaknesses and prioritize improvements to our overall plans. Whether your plan is to bug out (mobile or on foot), shelter in place, activate your group retreat, or take to the high seas or the mountain tops, could you do it right now? What are you lacking? Do you need to scale things down? Do you have adequate food, water, shelter, medical supplies/training, communications, power/electrical supply, fuel, etc? Could you communicate with others, inside your group and outside your group? Could you hear important information updates being put out by other likeminded preppers/patriots/Redoubters, or would you be out of the loop?
Does your plan WORK?
Downloadable PDF of the T-Rex Scenario
and Timeline: *COMING SOON*
Download, Print, and Distribute the –> T-REX 2014 FLYER
Coming soon…
– Timeline of Events that will be distributed to the public in the form of postings on RFR, marking the beginning and the conclusion of the scenario, including several ‘developments’ prescheduled to take place at intervals throughout the scenario. These developments will be known in advance, to facilitate simulated simultaneous events.
– Precoordinated ‘Spontaneous Developments’ that will be randomly distributed to individuals (Redoubters, Relays, and Hams) PRIOR to the event to simulate unknown, spontaneous developments. These ‘Spontaneous Developments’ will necessitate the use of non-conventional communications to distribute information, intelligence, and news or other developments. How far will the life-saving news travel?
– An AAR (After Action Report) for assessing strengths and weaknesses – Successes and Failures – in your personal or groups SHTF plan. And recommendations & lessons learned to pass along to other redoubters who might benefit. Information sharing, as a tool for recommending/implementing improvements.

[…] T-Rex 2012 […]
When are the scenario and timeline going to be available? “Soon” is a meaningless term. Please commit to an actual date, the sooner the better. For those who have never participated before, it may require extensive preparation time, including purchases of mobile DC power sources to operate radios, development and rehearsal of site-specific procedures, and, above-all, recruitment of neighbors who might be interested, but who think this concept is presently too-vaguely stated to commit to participating. For working people, with heavy summertime family commitments, August 22nd is not that far away.
Franz, we’re working our butts off, so cut us some slack. Soon means we’re working on it while you’re sleeping. We’re going to give you WAY more advance notice than you’ll probably ever get from a real-world disaster. This is a chance for you to implement and practice YOUR individual/family/group/church disaster preparedness plan. Expect a grid-down scenario (power and other infrastructure), where services will be intermittent at first, and non-existent at some point. Also, there will be severe restrictions on movement imposed, with (mock) curfews. Some of the details within the scenario won’t be released until we’re closer to the T-Rex and some will only be released DURING the scenario through the AmRRON Communications Network. We will not ‘force’ evacuations of areas in the scenarios, because there is such a wide variation in individual disaster plans (Bug-in, Bug-out, going to grandma’s house, etc.). That part will be up to the individual. If they foresee an evacuation is highly probable for their personal situation (getting out of the city) then they should incorporate evacuation into their personal training exercise. Right now, you already know to take the 22nd through the 24th off the calendar (or as much of it as is practical for your personal situation). Organizationally, we will be placing much emphasis on the communications network, while on an individual/family/group level you should be planning on a grid-down/infrastructure-down scenario. Lights out.
Stay with us, Franz! We should have more specific details out, including the scenario outline, by next Friday (June 20th).
Love the idea of putting the plan into action and not knowing the scenario. It is the only way to find the flaws in all levels of preparedness. The hard thing to do is getting the whole family like minded friends in on it and their family. May just have to have one or two friends of each family participate.
Dallas City Troop will be fully participating in T-Rex 2014. We do an annual evacuation drill in August every year, so it makes sense for us to join this.
I would request adding 10m and 6m frequencies in order to have more range on communications, if possible.
We are looking forward to this.
