Never use red lock tight when mounting optics. If you want to be able to remove your optics base later, and or PREVENT stripping your screw heads, always use BLUE lock tight during installation. Blue lock tight is the only thread locking compound that should be used on all firearms fasteners, action screws, optics bases etc……….. I provide you with this information FREE OF CHARGE… ?…. Thank you for the reminder! I remember reading an article about that and had completely forgotten about it. I have BLUE Loctite on my rifle optic screws.
Red makes your screws so tight that it often results in stripping out the heads. Then the adventure begins.
