The federal government, and more specifically the Bureau of Land Management, have overreached beyond their constitutional boundaries, and have oppressed American citizens, including ranchers and miners, for decades. These actions have caused the frustrations of American Citizens – patriots – everywhere to boil over. The ranchers have exhausted all recourse in fighting an unjust ruling that they return to prison for a controlled burn which got out of control many years ago. When people have no further recourse for a redress of legitimate grievances, desperation sets in.
After a peaceful demonstration involving approximately 300 patriots in Burns, Oregon on Saturday, January 2nd, a group estimated at 150 patriots, drove thirty miles to the Malheur National Wildlife Refuge Headquarters building and have occupied it. They stated that they were prepared to maintain their position for years, if necessary. They are demanding that the government stop violating the constitution and respect citizens’ land rights. Unfortunately, the objectives are not much more clearly defined than that. This move is poor timing, a poor location, and is tactically and strategically unsound. Those on location are truly patriots, but this was a poor decision that will result in widely felt ramifications for all of us. We stand by the Hammonds and lift them up in prayer, but do not feel that the actions by the patriots at the Wildlife Refuge will net results that will help the Hammonds, nor the patriots on site.
Unfortunately, this comes at a time when the current administration is scheduled to meet to discuss gun safety laws. Furthermore, one of the patriots occupying the site is reportedly a veteran with PTSD. His accountability buddy posted on social media that the veteran expressed a desire to commit ‘suicide by government.’ This will only help to perpetuate the anti-gun, anti-American narrative with regard to gun control. They will certainly exploit this situation to their benefit, and to the detriment of patriots.
The Obama administration, with the help of the DHS, has been running the narrative that the biggest threat to US National Domestic Security are ‘right wing extremists.’
An objective assessment of the brewing conflict in our country would lead to the honest conclusion that an escalated conflict (Revolutionary or civil war) is all but inevitable at some point in our nation’s future.
This current development in Oregon will result in the implementation of policies and responses that will empower the leftist, anti-American forces, and prematurely hasten the inevitable conflict that is coming in our country.
Remember, not every patriot participated in the Boston Tea Party in 1773. Not everyone condoned it. But that was a significant event that led to heavy-handed responses by the British. After that, it was just a matter of time before the rest of the patriots were fighting for freedom and for their country, whether they were ready for it or not.
Pray for wisdom, discernment, and courage. And especially, pray for the wisdom to know when it is your time to act, and how.

Well put. There are countless injustices heaped upon those committed to liberty and no seated power has ever willingly relinquished power except under violence, or the imminent threat thereof. Nonetheless, occupying an otherwise vacant building over the weekend, with no objective, is not the act of a well-thought out strategic plan. It should be renounced and kudos for doing so in an understanding and kind manner.
Good Counsel John Jacob. Just listened to the Sunday night show and despite the audio player (or intentional interference) I was able to listen to most. Your thoughts are well grounded I believe, and I hope for all patriots to use their utmost discretion about taking on Leviathan. There are dangerous games afoot by the enemies of our country and I hope our people are able to see that and prepare and act accordingly.
1. We do not know if they didn’t seek counsel – It is easy to assume something you disagree with was done in haste. Everyone must do what their own consciences says is the right thing and when. Because your counsel is not theirs does not mean it was not sought, is false, or they ought not follow it.
2. One of the arguments is that it is not a good time because we are not yet prepared. If that is so, then there is little point in the Redoubt – many have been here for years. If we aren’t prepared today, we are unlikely to be prepared next year, two years from now or at any arbitrary point in the future for a disaster – at the hands, of God, Government or Nature. Yet if it is true, this should be a call to be prepared by spring for any action that will be necessary. Everyone should be prepared by 4/19/2016 for anything and everything.
3. I’m really tired of “they’ll call us domestic terrorists”. They already do and having a focal point is probably better than having the abstract, amorphous “boogey men” white supremacist preppers waiting for doomsday somewhere in Idaho narrative that can shift and move and the subject changed as needed to keep it going. They now have to explain who is and who is not a terrorist and why between concrete examples – Ferguson and #BLM (the other ones) riots, San Bernadino and the other Muslims, and these Ranchers who have been oppressed and harassed for years and merely set a backfire that stopped a burn.
This is good in that it is a bad time – we can only know who friends and supporters are when it cannot be a matter of popularity, but principle that causes men to stand either at your side or walk away. The weathervanes need to be identified and treated like informants. Better now, early, than when the wicked day comes and you can’t be sure if the person next to you will stab you in the back.
The choice of location does not appear to have any tactical advantage or at least not much. Any tactician will be prepared to capitalize on even the weak portions of a poor plan. Though this one has started out in the shadow so to speak, it will have some rather strong points of redemption. Unfortunately I fear there may be an unnecessarily large loss before a successful recovery. I would invite other members to put some prayer and thought into the possible outcome and be prepared with alternative plans. I do not think this is the place to divulge any possibilities.
Gotta pick your battles people… every encounter with the feds doesn’t have to be an armed stand-off in order to make your point. As one of the people watching it on TV, I Thought that the protesters were hitting a home run with the public, flags were flying, people were peaceably marching … But it was being overshadowed by the “armed group” story…. remember folks…. it’s not the cause the public sees, it’s the way we present our case… Most of the Population of the US is in the East… BLM to them means Black Lives Matter or it means nothing at all… in this case it means nothing at all….To the metrosexual moron watching it on his phone, riding the redeye into the city, This armed group should have been disposed of.. they have No Idea of the details, Further, if it’s not presented in a palatable manner, it’s never going to be accepted as a wrong….
