Movie scenario based on a catastrophic solar flare and society teeters on the edge of total anarchy. While the politicians fight insanity and each other, a group of middle-class suburbanites take survival into their own hands. With bullets and seeds, this neighborhood of school teachers and businessmen transform themselves into a village of self-sustaining warriors. Can they hold on until power is restored, or will they fall to the starving masses?
Update: There have been a lot of people waiting for this movie to release and Amazon got hit. We checked with Amazon and they are on back order, deliveries expected 12-14 days and they will be shipped in the order that the orders are placed.
This would be a great movie to watch with friends and family that are unaware how a disaster could drasticly change our comfortable way of life.
For the disabled. There is plenty of help at the local ham club. Check arrl.org for a club near you. Or, ask a guy with a bunch of antennas on his car. Visit the ham club and explain your situation and I am sure there are many good radios setting on shelves and in closets ready for a new home with any one who is interested in learning and financially strapped as all of us are.

The movie, I thought wasn’t that well done. And the end left you wondering….now what? One of those kinds of movies with no real ending but leaves you wondering a bit why they didn’t finish it with a message or something. It was just odd I thought. The DVD that I got was also defective, in that it kept stopping and skipping. I had to go back a few times to catch the skips and play with the player when the movie just stopped to get it to go again. For the money that was charged for the movie….I felt a little ripped off. That is my honest opinion of the movie…..I wish I could recommend that everyone purchase it but I can’t. I know because we are on a fixed income, I had to stretch to buy it and I did have high hopes for this production, but I was disappointed. Sorry. 🙁
Carol, Thank you for the feedback on the movie, The trailer looks really good and it seems like it could be a good tool to show others that are not “on board” that stocking up and being prepared is important. I’m sorry to hear yours is defective, I would contact Amazon and let them know. They have always been good about replacing defective items. We attempt to support “the good guys” and this was an independent type film and they were not sure if the movie would happen since it was not backed by big Hollywood. Looking at the Amazon reviews, some people like th movie so I am looking forward to getting my copy. Thank you again for your feedback and being a Radio Free Redoubt reader. Also, please contact Amazon about your defective item and we hope you get that resolved quickly.
The original ‘film’ was started by one gentleman, then taken from him and finished by another and released….then given/taken back to the original fellow who re-did the film by adding the .gov story line then re-re-releasing it.
Confusing I know, a great many of us (inc. Man #1 had really high hopes for the film). It’s a pretty good effort considering the Utter Mess that was made of it originally!
It’s not Family-Friendly (or at least I’d not let my kids see it). Like some others, it could have been far better-and could have been much worse!

as to the defective DVD, I’ll echo JJS, Amazon is usually really good about returns and such.
[…] Free Redoubt also has a movie that is available now. Remnants looks like a good movie to watch with your friends who are a bit clueless. – […]
