AR in the National News:
20 years after Ruby Ridge siege, extremists are fewer in northern Idaho but still remain
“COEUR d’ALENE, Idaho — About 15 neo-Nazi and Ku Klux Klan demonstrators showed up outside Atilano’s Mexican restaurant in this resort town of 44,000 in May carrying signs that said: “Keep Coeur d’Alene White.”
“My staff was in tears,” recalls 22-year-old restaurant manager Patricia Gonzales. She became frightened when she noticed a holstered handgun on the hip of one skinhead.
“Trust me, you don’t want that kind of people in front of your place,” she says. “It’s amazing that in 2012 people still do that.”
The May 19 protest ended in a scuffle between the white supremacists and restaurant patrons, some who carried anti-KKK signs and threw eggs at the demonstrators. Police ended up arresting one of the counter-protesters on charges of assault and intimidation.
It’s been 20 years ago this week since the siege at Ruby Ridge 70 miles to the north of here and 12 years since Richard Butler was forced to sell his notorious Aryan Nations compound in the adjoining Idaho panhandle community of Hayden Lake.”
… Today, northern Idaho’s neo-Nazis and white supremacists have scattered.
“There is kind of a Nazi Diaspora going on,” says Coeur d’Alene attorney Norman Gissel, spokesman for the Kootenai County Task Force on Human Relations. The group brought the lawsuit that forced Butler to sell his compound. “They don’t have a homeland or a place.”
Butler’s estimated 200 followers dispersed, migrating to Florida, Alabama, Pennsylvania, upstate New York and the Midwest, Gissel says.”

Delusional reality: Everything peddled by politicians, media, banks and television is a fiction
“(NaturalNews) The “War on Terror” is a complete fabrication. There is no terrorism other than what the government creates in order to sell its agenda of a police state takeover. Click here to read Paul Craig Roberts’ article that lays this out in brilliant detail.
The CDC’s war on West Nile virus is also a complete fabrication. There is no real West Nile virus threat. (Read article here.) The odds of being killed by West Nile are, much like with “terrorism,” even lower than the odds of being killed by a bee sting.
The “economic recovery” of America is a fairy tale. Over the last few days, the federal debt reached a jaw-dropping $16 trillion — nearly $5 trillion of that debt has been incurred under one person: President Obama. Unemployment is at record highs. Half the population is on federal aid of one form or another. Food stamp costs have skyrocketed.
“Obamacare” is a fiasco. Dubbed the “Affordable Care Act,” in reality health insurance costs have vastly increased after the passage of this ill-conceived law.
Bin Laden wasn’t killed by U.S. Navy Seals. The war is a fake. The news is faked. The media is completely, utterly faked, running totally fictional stories. CNN is actually an elaborate theater operation, faking sets, locations, sound effects and everything else you can imagine. Don’t believe me? Watch this totally faked CNN broadcast from the Gulf War, featuring “journalist” Charles Jaco:

TSA Again
TSA Kicks Woman Off Flight For Bad Attitude
“A TSA screener admitted to a woman traveling through Houston Airport that she was prevented from boarding her flight for retaliatory reasons as punishment for a bad attitude rather than any genuine security threat, after the woman refused to allow TSA agents to test her drink for explosives.
… The fact that the TSA screener admits the woman is being punished for her attitude confirms the premise that many of the TSA’s security procedures actually have nothing to do with safety and are more a form of obedience training for the general public.
Another example can be cited in the context of reports that travelers are being punished with more invasive pat downs if they refuse to pass through radiation-firing body scanners.
As Consumer Traveler’s Charlie Leocha reported last month, “When meeting with privacy officials at the Department of Homeland Security (DHS) and TSA later that month, I was told unofficially that there were two standards of pat-downs. One for the normal situation where passengers are going through metal detectors and a different pat-down for those who refuse to go through the whole-body scanners.””

Military Voting! – Important!!
In the 2008 election military ballots were not counted. Would the election outcome have been different? It doesn’t matter. Our active duty military has the right to vote and their votes should count. Politics be damned.

GOP senators ask Panetta to make sure troops can vote
“Six Republican senators are asking Secretary of Defense Leon E. Panetta personally to intervene to ensure that U.S. troops stationed away from home get the chance to register and vote in the upcoming election.
They say Pentagon officials are ignoring a 2009 law that ordered the military to set up a special voting-assistance office at every U.S. base around the world, to make sure troops can negotiate the confusing patchwork of 50 different sets of state registration and absentee voting requirements, and get their ballots mailed in time.
“The price of [the Department of Defense‘s] failure to follow the law will likely be paid this November by military service members and their families, whose voting rights were to have been safeguarded by this provision,” wrote U.S. Republican Sens. John Cornyn of Texas, Kelly Ayotte of New Hampshire, John Barrasso of Wyoming, Richard Burr of North Carolina, Saxby Chambliss of Georgia and James Inhofe of Oklahoma.
“Many of the on-base voter assistance offices that do exist are grossly inadequate, and at least half of them are either closed or completely unstaffed,” states the letter, sent to Mr. Panetta Friday.
“We request a timely response on what you intend to do to ensure that our military service members and their families receive the voter assistance they need in order to participate in the democratic process this November,” the letter concludes.
Earlier this week, the Pentagon inspector general released a report saying investigators had been unable to contact voting-assistance offices at just over half of the U.S. military’s 229 bases across the globe. But Pam Mitchell, the acting director of the Federal Voting Assistance Program at the Pentagon, said they were using outdated contact information.”

Marine Hero Brandon Raub Falsely Detained for Exercising His Right to Free Speech

John Whitehead Interviews Brandon Raub

The case of Brandon Raub: Can the government detain you over Facebook posts?
“WASHINGTON, August 22, 2012 — Brandon J. Raub, a 26-year-old pro-liberty activist, former U.S. Marine, and Virginia resident, was arrested after authorities deemed his Facebook posts threatening. Citing an obscure statute allowing the involuntary detainment of a citizen for psychiatric evaluation, the FBI, Secret Service, and local authorities swarmed Raub’s property to question and then seize him.
Without a warrant or recitation of his Miranda rights, Raub was handcuffed and taken into custody. After a quick hearing, government officials confirmed that Raub’s Facebook posts necessitated his detention, refusing to acknowledge legal objections that the words were wrongly interpreted. The former Marine will undergo 30 days of evaluation at Salem VA Medical Center.
Since the incident, Raub has become an online hero as the arrest video and Facebook pages teeter on the verge of going viral. Citizens from all political persuasions, veterans, civil liberties advocates and the generally curious are discussing the political manifesto and detainment of Brandon Raub.”
Food!
Coming Food Crisis Plays into Global Elite’s Demand for Population Stabilization
“Since 2010, the UN Food and Agricultural Organization have stated that the rise in food prices is directly correlated to the 80 million people being added to the world’s population annually. This fact, according to the globalists at the UN, is beginning to “tax both the skills of farmers and the limits of the earth’s land and water resources.”
Added to this problem are the 3 million people who are “moving up the food chain” eating more than their share in gluttonous nations like the United States and China”

Continuing Assault on the Founders and our Liberty:
TPP Copyright Provisions Threaten Internet Freedom, U.S. Sovereignty
“The secretive conferences where delegates are hammering out the details of the Trans-Pacific Partnership (TPP) are effectively rewriting the law for the United States, particularly in the area of intellectual property.
The TPP is an international trade treaty currently being negotiated behind closed doors by nine nations located along the Pacific Rim (Mexico and Canada have been invited to join and would bring the total number of participants to 11). The 14th round of talks is set for September 6-15 in Leesburg, Virginia.
As The New American has reported, among the many problems with shrouding the details of such a binding agreement behind a thick veil of secrecy is the fact that if the TPP is approved by the Senate, it would become the law of the land, and the laws of the United States would be subject to abrogation by an international body that is unelected and unanswerable to the people of the United States.
According to a proposed draft version of the treaty leaked to the public, the United States, as part of its membership in the TPP, would agree to exempt foreign corporations from our laws and regulations, placing the resolution of any disputes as to the applicability of those matters to foreign business in the hands of an international arbitration tribunal overseen by the Secretary General of the United Nations.”

Obama Tries to Bypass Congress with Deadly Global Internet Treaty ACTA
“Before the American people were protesting the Stop Online Piracy Act and the Protect Intellectual Property Act, the president managed to sign an international treaty which would permit foreign companies to demand that ISPs (Internet Service Providers) remove web content in the United States without any legal oversight. Entitled the Anti-Counterfeiting Trade Agreement (ACTA), the treaty was signed by Obama on October 1, 2011, but it is currently a subject of discussion because the White House is circulating a petition demanding that senators ratify the treaty.
What’s worse is that the White House has done some maneuvering — characterizing the treaty as an “executive agreement” — thereby bypassing approval by members of Congress. Concerned by this action of the administration, Sen. Ron Wyden (D-Ore., above left) sent a letter to President Obama in which he declared:
It may be possible for the U.S. to implement ACTA or any other trade agreement, once validly entered, without legislation if the agreement requires no change in U.S. law. But regardless of whether the agreement requires changes in U.S. law … the executive branch lacks constitutional authority to enter a binding international agreement covering issues delegated by the Constitution to Congress’ authority, absent congressional approval.”
TPP Creates Legal Incentives For ISPs To Police The Internet. What Is At Risk? Your Rights.
The draft chapter of the Trans-Pacific Partnership Agreement on Intellectual Property—as of its current leaked version [PDF], article 16—insists that signatories provide legal incentives for Internet Service Providers (ISPs) to privately enforce copyright protection rules. The TPP wants service providers to undertake the financial and administrative burdens of becoming copyright cops, serving a copyright maximalist agenda while disregarding the consequences for Internet freedom and innovation.
TPP article 16.3 mandates a system of ISP liability that goes beyond the US Digital Millennium Copyright Act (DMCA) standards and US case law. In sum, the TPP pushes a framework beyond ACTA[1] and possibly the spirit of the DMCA, since it opens the doors for:
- Three-strikes policies and laws that require Internet intermediaries to terminate their users’ Internet access on repeat allegations of copyright infringement
- Requirements for Internet intermediaries to filter all Internet communications for potentially copyright-infringing material
- ISP obligations to block access to websites that allegedly infringe or facilitate copyright infringement
- Efforts to force intermediaries to disclose the identities of their customers to IP rightsholders on an allegation of copyright infringement. “

Web inventor warns governments: Internet has no off switch
“LONDON — Tim Berners-Lee, the British inventor of the World Wide Web, on Wednesday warned governments that attempts to block the Internet were doomed to failure due to its scattered structure.
Speaking at the launch of a league table showing which countries use the web most effectively, Berners-Lee said the lack of a global Internet “off-switch” meant authoritarian regimes could not stem the influx of digital information.
“The way the Internet is designed is very much as a decentralised system,” he explained at the London launch.
“At the moment, because countries connect to each other in lots of different ways, there is no one off switch, there is no central place where you can turn it off.
“In order to be able to turn the whole thing off or really block, suppress one particular idea then the countries and governments would have to get together and agree and co-ordinate and turn it from a decentralised system to being a centralised system.
“And if that does happen it is really important that everybody fights against that sort of direction.””

Re: Food Crisis
The whole idea that the population needs to be reduced so that “we” can solve “our” food and resource problems more easily, is wrong-headed for a number of reasons. Let’s start with this being “our” problem.
“Our” problem:
I help my neighbors not because I own them, or they own me, but because there is a high chance of reciprocal help some time in the future. For their problems to be my problems would require a tighter connection than you have in a society of free people. Even ants don’t help other random ants, but only those that belong to it’s own colony. In fact it will kill foreign ants that wander into it’s colony’s domain.
A smaller population somehow makes it easier:
We have the technology now to feed everyone living, but not the means to do this without coercing the producers to give up the product of their labor at a rate below cost. The problem here is not the number of people but poverty. You can see from recent history that as a people become wealthier, they tend to limit the number of children they have, limiting the number of children to _make_ people wealthy doesn’t necessarily work.
There are people wise enough to implement this plan with a smaller population:
Arrogance and hubris were not invented by the current generation of leaders. They seem to be human characteristics that have been around for a long time. We have better technology, but are no wiser than our fore fathers. So… if our fore fathers didn’t have a golden age with a smaller population, and we are no wiser, what reason is there to believe that we could pull it off if the population were reduced to some ideal number? Technology? We’ve got that now and are not solving this problem (see previous reasons).
Bear
This is not just in the United States. In shortwave radio economic and farming news from places like Russia, they’ve been on the fence to BAN EXPORTS of wheat, due to the poor harvests, Continental Europe and even down in Australia it’s the same for their grain crops and their wine and other exports for years, Australia for example, during the past several years had record drought followed by record DAMAGING rain in places. The list goes on.
Our central USA, known as the bread basket has repeatedly been under flood water, and “EXCEPTIONAL DROUGHT” conditions, but little is mentioned in the controlled media, because there’s no political love for farming and ranching families who have no use for a repressive (oh, I mean “strong”) central federal government. Yet “Katrina Victims” are still occaisonally in the news, as convienent…
Add to this the economic, mind-numbing regulatory and generational pressures that drive Americans off of their farms and ranches and fishing boats in record numbers: we’re hosed. If I wanted to curse a nation, I’d cause them to curde their farmers, ranchers and watermen: we’re “there”.
Buy storage food now, while it’s relatively cheep. Learn to garden, learn to ‘mini-farm’ with chickens and maybe goats & etc. Your food storage is ONLY to suppliment you through the times when you cannot grow your own food, but it won’t last forever, so learn to make your own on your property, or ‘guerilla farming’ on unused land. Research ‘Buy Local/Grow Local’ and CSA (Community Supported Agriculture) while you can, because the politicians have not yet shown the lash of food slavery n the general public, but they will.
If I had an emeny with 10,000 rounds of ammunition, but no food, I’d isolate them a few weeks and they’d turn it all in for a bowl of soup. Food Is A Weapon.
Haaaaar!
Popeye
Ps. I’ll fight’s to thee finish,
‘fore they takes mee spinach,
I’m Pop-eye the sayyyy-loooor-MAAAAAN!
Toooot-Tooot!
Popeye,
I think you’re right on the money with regards to growing your own and using stored food to supplement what you can’t grow.
Governments banning exports is “lifeboat” thinking and will cause problems. Allowing exports moderates the prices because the market is larger. Banning exports will cause the same grain to have different prices in different countries, which will lead to hardship and hunger where it’s expensive, and a black market in smuggled food.
Hungry people are desperate people, and you can expect wars and revolts to follow if it gets bad enough.
