I love stories like this because this is what we all must do to take our country back peacefully.
From FoxNews:
Pitchfork-wielding Virginia farmers rallied to support a woman who claims local officials came down on her for, among other things, hosting a children’s birthday party on her [farm].
Martha Boneta, owner of Liberty Farms in the northern village of Paris, was threatened with nearly $5,000 in fines for selling produce and crafts and throwing unlicensed events, including a birthday party for her best friend’s child.
This is fighting back against local regulatory lunacy. This is what it takes to support liberty in your own area. When and if we have a status-quo-shattering event or string of events; aside from your ability to protect and provide for yourself, your local government will be the only form of viable governance available. If your local leaders are progressive statists, then you have two options: replace them or move.
Boneta was told that she did not have the proper event permits for the party and other events, including wine tastings, craft workshops, and pumpkin carving.
The next time you’re told by your city council that you can’t hold a craft workshop, pumpkin carving, or birthday party, ask yourself, Is this how a free American is treated?
The answer is NO. Unless you want your children, the next generation and everyone after it, to progress down the road to slavery, this big-government-always-knows-best mentality must end.
Boneta was also threatened with fines for selling produce and products not grown or made on the 70-acre farm in a small store she operated on the property. But she said she already had a special license issued to her in 2011 that allowed her to run a “retail farm shop” where at the time, she made it clear that she intended to sell handspun yarns and craft items like birdhouses in addition to fresh vegetables, eggs, and herbs.
This is another reason I no longer live in Virginia – state and local government is extremely unfriendly to small farms.
Boneta gained the support of other farmers in the county who feared that they would face similar fines and joined her at a hearing on Aug. 2, where they held a “pitchfork protest” in which they held signs and farming tools in support of Liberty Farms and its owner.
Reversing statist government should be our individual and collective missions and pitchfork protests are a great start. I applaud Fauqier County farmers.
The statists haven’t given up. I think the farmers need to start a recall election to show the statists that they are serious, and the majority (I hope) does not support the statist attitude. The statists will keep taking a little at a time until there is significant push back.

There was a similar story recently about local governments going after vintners in Virginia, because they were serving food and wine together in their shops on the vineyard grounds. On the 18th, the Raw Milk Freedom Riders & Lemonade Freedom day set up lemonade stands and drank raw milk near the Mall in Washington DC. It’s good to see people standing up against this kind of ridiculous tyranny from the government.
Yes, Special Agent Morgan Ryder sent that to me and I was going to cover it in last week’s show, but postponed it until this coming week. Very similar situation and there’s just TOO MUCH of it going on. …keep poking that tiger with a stick…
This is an example of only ONE of the methods used to starve a nation, despite it’s rich agricultural production. Remember that Zimbabwe – the former Rhodesia- was a bread basket for the rest of Africa before the communist thugs tok over. Naturally, when the communists took charge, they went after the ‘white farmers’ and are still doing the most horendous things to those who are the productive class, in the name of ‘land reform’. As soon as I heard about this I told everyone that the formerly well fed people would be hungry next year and starving with STRIDENT and ARROGANT demands for food from Mugabe from the “developed nations” in two. Unfortunately, I was right. Only a fool curses his farmers, ranchers and watermen.
The land owning farmers in the former USSR, the Ukranian Christians and Volga Deutch in particular, were growing food that they were forced to not distribute & not allowed to eat – though THEY grew it! Stalin, confiscated it to send to the cities to pacify the city people for both show and and to slowly murder his personal enemies in the country over just a few years. The Christian farmers of the USSR were slowly starved to death while they slow worked THEIR own fields, along with the other atrocities committed against them. All this was quite ‘legal’… because tyranical sadists wrote the laws.
Soviet style ‘scientific farming’ was never up to the task of replacng the farmers murdered by their politicians and we were sending grain to the USSR for a very long time. There is more, but remember that when politicians unleash bureaucrats onto the farmers, it’s usually the beginning of the end of life as you know it.
Oh – back to Zimbabwe under the “democratically elected president for LIFE: Robert Mugabe” , well the great news is that everyone is a millionaire now, because last I read, their inflation rate was something like 38 quintillion… I’m an engineer and even I am not certain how many zeroes are printed on their bills they buy a loaf of bread with, but it’s horrendous – especially if you actually produce something useful and get paid in their worthless paper currency with the face of that dim-witted maggot printed on it.
Virginia was not always a place for pettite bureacrats to live very long. It was once a hot bed of freedom, back in the late colonial period, when we were wise enough to be humble and as a people to understand that our prosperity comes from God blessing the product of our hands on the plow. Many of ‘the framers of the constitution, were farmers.’ Now of course, we’re far too ‘smart’ to believe in such things as national sin and God, but let’s see how ‘smart’ we feel as a rebellious, anti-Christian nation, when we’re seriously hungry.
We have not yet seen the politics of hunger exercised as a whip by pitiless politicians, but I believe that we shall, unless we as a nation turn back to Jesus Christ.
