Breaking!
Rioting in major cities is spreading to outlying areas. Spokane WA is the only city so far to see protests turn hostile. Large show of force by police quickly quell riots before they beome significant. Begin prioritizing your bugout items now if you live in or near large metropolitan areas.
Good stuff John. Thats the way it will be and thats what will have to be dealt with. Accurate, concise information.
I am totally jazzed by what everyone is trying to accomplish at RFR.com (The Home Of The Great American Redoubt.).
I am a licensed Amature/Ham Operator. (I haven’t yet joined ARN or AmRRON, for reasons of OPSEC.). I am under the first ‘Skip Zone’ of long haul DX. I am however in the zone that could be the recipiant of NVIS on 40 meters & 80 meters. I haven’t seen anything in the plan to launch signals via NVIS to those that are currently OAR.
My destination will be a pre-sited purchased property inside of the ‘Redoubt’ and will be a journey getting there. Local comms will be a help, but not if those in the redoubt’s commo community send out signal farther than just the Redoubt’s local A.O.
Remember, there are those of us that are currently O.A.R., but are trying to work our way there, to the safety of like-minded folks inside the Redoubt.
During this exercise, my plan is to monitor HF freqs and diseminate/pass on information via Ch-3 USB on 11 meter/CB.

Some AmRRON operators do have NVIS, but most have dipole antennas. Also, there are a MUCH higher percentage of ARN members (and AmRRON Operators) who are OAR than there are IN the A.R.. Information will be flowing in all directions, so the chances of you being left out are pretty slim, especially with all the message relaying that will be going on (during T-Rex as well as a real-world TEOTWAWKI event).
As far as not signing up for AmRRON for OPSEC reasons… as you can see, there is NO personal information displayed in the directory/roster. The only personal information you give up is that which you send in an email. All that is kept secure if one chooses to send it in at all.
Like I’ve said before, if they have us (patriots) too scared to talk to each other, they’ve already won.
Hi John,
I agree with your point highly. I posted that in reguard to OPSEC as I haven’t yet spoken with my teamatest; as far as making a commitment to ARN or AmRRON. No disrespect intended. As a matter of fact; I Salute All Of Your Efforts!
For right now,I plan to observe and help over on this side of OAR for the exercise(FTX). To get the word out to those moving towards the Redoubt.
I understand that a good portion will be using Half-Wave Dipoles (If they’re either a motivated mobile or a fixed operator from inside the Redoubt.).
I’m sure there are a few folks that haven’t yet thought about those folks in-between the skip zone that might not hear unless they get a bounce via NVIS. It’s just a thought…Now someone might just string a ‘Low Wire’ for us out here, Thanks!

Roger that on all! I plan on building an NVIS this Fall just for the reasons you mentioned. Thanks for stepping up to help! Lots of Redoubters/Patriots/Preppers are watching from a distance and plan on monitoring and even doing some commo checks to see if they can raise anyone on the radio in their neck of the woods, and I’m talking about the ones who aren’t even ‘official’ members. That’s exciting.
